Liz Turner: Person-Centred Counsellor

Hi , I’m Liz , I’m a qualified person-centred counsellor.
Life can be tough and it’s easy to forget that our emotional wellbeing is as important as our physical health . I believe that reaching out for support is courageous and that self-care is important.

I’m experienced in providing counselling to adults experiencing a range of difficult emotions and challenging thoughts that are impacting on their emotional wellbeing. In addition to my private practice, I have worked for mental health services in the charity sectorfor over 10 years.

As a counsellor my aim is to build a trusting working relationship with you underpinned by integrity and respect where you would feel totally able to be you.

My approach is not directive which means you chose the focus pace and goals of sessions. I won't judge you,  I will offer empathy and will guide and support you to explore and understand your emotions, experiences and perceptions. Working in this way can give you the clarity to resolve or manage difficult emotions and change negative thought patterns.

What would it be like for you to feel like "I can" rather than "I can't" ?

If you were feeling demotivated thinking “ I can't” rather than “I can” I offer solution focused techniques and motivational interviewing these focus on the present and future and help you recognise the skills and strengths, you have to move forwards with greater self-belief and confidence
