Fi Amery  - BSc  (Therapeutic counselling)

About Me:

Hi,

My name is Fiona, but everyone calls me Fi and I am delighted to be part of the Bingley Counselling Team.  I am an integrative therapist, with a person-centred core.   What does this mean?  It means I have studied integrative therapy for seven years and can use different concepts and therapies to support your journey.  You are the expert of you and I will be alongside to listen, reflect and offer therapeutic intervention in a non-judgemental and safe space.

I am a wife and mum to two grown up children and have two Labradors Bailey and Blu. I believe dogs/pets can have an innate instinct to assist people with both physical and mental health issues.  In my spare time I love to travel, go to the theatre and visit music concerts with my daughter.  I also love to learn and believe it’s never too late to stop.

I have volunteered for a local mental health charity and have co-facilitated a local support group to support women with their mental health in the local area.  I have delivered informative training to a local business and nearby college on the lived experience of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, a disorder I am passionate about spreading awareness of.  I have also had experience at a local Marie Curie Hospice supporting family members in their bereavement and grief.  I currently work for an employee assistance provision and have vast experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds; I also have experience in working with key workers.

I will be alongside you at your pace, there may be bumps, challenge and turbulence along the way but you will be supported in a safe and empathic environment.  If you are interested to see if we can work together, please get in touch; I offer a free 30-minute consultation via phone/virtually via Teams for you to ask any questions you may have.
