David Wheatley-Person-centred Counsellor
About Me:
Hi, I’m David, a qualified counsellor, registered with the National Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (NCPS).
I have been qualified and helping people with their mental health since 2021. There are different styles of counselling My style of counselling is person-centred. As our person-centred counsellor I will help you to explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviour, and worldview, so you can become more self-aware and resolve your issues.
I have worked with a wide variety of clients, helping them with a wide range of issues from bereavement to relationship concerns.
I also with couples to help them examine their situations and see where we can find resolutions to the concerns they have in their relationship.
Every therapeutic situation is different, with the people who want to be helped at the heart of it. We are unique and the things we go through are specific to us. There will be similarities to other people, but no set of circumstances is ever the same. Whatever you are struggling with, I can help you talk about what’s on your mind and provide therapeutic support to get you to a place to tackle your problems and take control of the situation as best you can. For some clients, that may be by talking through options, for other just having someone who listens to you is needed.
My role is to provide you with a safe, confidential space to come and share what is happening with you. I will listen, I won’t judge, and I will say what it is I am hearing and perhaps get you to see things in a new way. I am not here to advise or tell you how to live your life. What might work for me may not work for you, but we can go through options together, so you make your own choices. You are the expert on your life and have the autonomy to make your own decisions.
