Suzy Daly - Humanistic Counsellor

I graduated as a humanistic counsellor from York St John in 2024, I am now working towards BACP accreditation. Since graduating, I have been working as an associate counsellor in North Yorkshire with children, young people and adults, and I also volunteer as an adult counsellor for a charity. I have over 11 years of experience working with children, young people and adults in a counselling and nurturing environment. I work with a range of presenting issues including depression, anxiety and trauma.

I specialise in working with issues around transitions, such as a change in education setting, workplace or relationship status, and bereavement and loss, providing support across a range of ages. I have experience of working with clients who present with neurodevelopmental differences.

I provide a space which encompasses warmth, compassion and authenticity, to promote the client to feel safe, and aid them in working towards the changes they want to make. By using a person-centred approach, I foster trust and collaboration, empowering clients to explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. Whilst I can hold distress, I also understand that moments of light or laughter within the
therapeutic relationship also possess healing potential.
