Eleanor Knowles-Wade

Hi, I’m Ellie, a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist offering both online and face-to-face counselling. I have a Level 4 Diploma in Person-Centred counselling, and am currently embarking on a Bachelor’s Degree in Integrative therapy.

If you are looking for therapy for yourself or a loved one, I imagine that parts of your life are not working for you at the moment. It may be that you feel that life is difficult due to anxiety and constant worry, a worry that you can't shake off.

Are you having intrusive thoughts that make you spiral?

Are you going through a difficult period in which your life has changed due to a relationship break-up, work stress, or bereavement?

Does this mean you get tearful, upset, or feel you have no control in your life?

Life isn't always easy, and I'd like to help you. My passion for counselling comes from my own experience as a client and seeing first-hand how transformative the therapeutic process can be. Experiencing the positive impact counselling had on my own life inspired me to train as a counsellor and support others in creating meaningful, lasting change.

I work predominantly from a Person-Centred approach, meaning that our sessions are led by you. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I will never pressure you to discuss anything you're not ready to explore, or encourage you to work at a pace that doesn't feel right for you. Where appropriate, I may also incorporate CBT-informed techniques and exercises to help you develop practical strategies and new ways of thinking.

I often say that I have “lived a life”. Alongside my professional training and experience, I bring with me a wealth of understanding gained through my own life experiences. Combined with the insight and expertise I have developed through my work with clients, this allows me to meet people with genuine empathy, warmth and compassion.

When life is messy, challenging and overwhelming, I recognise the courage it takes to reach out for support. Reaching out shows immense bravery, and I would love to work with you to help you with your challenges.

I have walked alongside my other clients, current and past, on their journeys, and I have always considered it a real privilege and value the trust they place in me.

I believe that meaningful change happens when we feel genuinely understood and accepted. Through our work together, I hope to help you develop greater self-awareness, build self-compassion, strengthen resilience and move towards a happier, more peaceful and fulfilling life. How does that sound? You don't need to face this alone.
