Julie Marriott
I’m Julie, an executive coach and mentor with over 25 years of experience in leading organisational change and culture programs. As a skilled interpersonal and transition coach, I’m a straight-talking human who believes deeply in people’s ability to adapt, change and transform their thinking, actions and behaviours when they’re properly supported.
I believe deeply in people’s ability to face up to change and their ability to navigate challenges when they’re properly supported.
My own experience of life brought brutal lessons: domestic abuse, single parenthood, betrayal, coercive control, grief & loss, and starting again… more than once. I learned, very quickly, that no one was coming to save me.
What I did learn was how to slow down when everything was on fire, evaluate my options, and make decisions that protected my children, my integrity and my future.
The ability to create calm, see choices clearly, and decide is one of the core things I now offer others.
Professionally, I’ve worked with people most others won’t – or can’t. I’ve coached and supported those that society feels are not worthy, those with violent pasts, people who have killed, people who have destroyed their own lives and others’.
As a coach, I have worked with people from all walks of life: business and third sector leaders, CEOs, executives, entrepreneurs, sporting professionals, and veterans. Privacy and confidentiality is key to my work, so I offer a discreet and highly confidential service.
Life has an uncanny and unpredictable way of throwing you into something that feels like a tumble wash!
As in interpersonal and transition coach I have worked with those who feel trapped in a dilemma, sitting with a decision that feels so hard to make. This might be how to gain a better home and work life balance, as men and women may face the same challenges but experience and process these in a different way.
I have coached individuals who might want to save a relationship, who are navigating grief and loss, mid-life dilemmas and shifts in identity. As we grow, emotions and feelings can change. They might shock and puzzle you, and sharing these thoughts and feelings might seem impossible from fear of judgement, shame, the conversations you simply don’t feel ready to have with those you love, or the conversations you could never have! One thing I’ve learnt is that there’s always a road map out of any messy middle.
Very little shocks me. Humans have the most amazing ability to navigate change and to overcome challenge if the right conditions are created for them.
One key thing I understand is: people are rarely what they think they are. Behaviour almost always makes sense once you understand the need underneath it.
My role is not to judge – it’s to help you understand why, see clearly, and decide what happens next.
