Ellie Knowles-Wade

Hi, I’m Ellie, a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist offering both online and face-to-face counselling. I have a Level 4 Diploma in Person-Centred counselling, and am currently embarking on a bachelor’s degree in Integrative therapy.

My passion for counselling comes from my own experience as a client and seeing first-hand how transformative the therapeutic process can be. Experiencing the positive impact counselling had on my own life inspired me to train as a counsellor and support others in creating meaningful, lasting change.

I believe that everyone deserves to live a life that feels calmer, more fulfilling and authentic. My aim is to help you understand yourself more deeply, build self-esteem, overcome challenges and recognise your own strengths and potential.

I work predominantly from a Person-Centred approach, meaning that our sessions are led by you. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I will never pressure you to discuss anything you're not ready to explore or encourage you to work at a pace that doesn't feel right for you. Where appropriate, I may also incorporate CBT-informed techniques and exercises to help you develop practical strategies and new ways of thinking.

I often say that I have “lived a life”. Alongside my professional training and experience, I bring with me a wealth of understanding gained through my own life experiences. Combined with the insight and expertise I have developed through my work with clients, this allows me to meet people with genuine empathy, warmth and compassion. I understand that life can be messy, challenging and sometimes overwhelming, and I recognise the courage it takes to reach out for support.

I consider it a real privilege to walk alongside my clients on their journeys. I deeply value the trust they place in me and strive to provide a relationship where they feel truly seen, heard and accepted.

I take confidentiality extremely seriously and aim to create a space where you feel safe to talk openly and freely about whatever is on your mind. My hope is that you will feel emotionally supported, encouraged and never judged.

I believe that meaningful change happens when we feel genuinely understood and accepted. My aim is to help you develop greater self-awareness, build self-compassion, strengthen resilience and move towards a happier, more peaceful and fulfilling life.

You don't have to face things alone. Whatever you're carrying, I offer a safe and supportive space where we can explore it together, at your pace and in a way that feels right for you.
